A vacancy was created on the Byron Union School District Board of Trustees due to the resignation of a Board member, Lucy Rodriguez, effective September 15, 2023. The Board member vacancy will be filled by provisional appointment.
The Board is accepting applications to fill this vacant Board member position. An Application Form and Applicant Qualification Form are available on the District website www.byronunionschooldistrict.us and in the District office located at 14301 Byron Highway, Byron, California.
Completed Application and Applicant Qualification Forms must be submitted in person at the District Office between the hours of 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM or can be emailed to clianko@byron.k12.ca.us. To be considered as a candidate, completed forms must be received by the District no later than 12:00 PM on October 20, 2023. Any application received after 12:00 pm on October 20, 2023, will not be accepted.
Applicants must be a citizen of California, a resident of Byron Union School District, at least 18 years old, a registered voter, and not otherwise legally disqualified from holding civil/public office. Per Board Bylaw 9223, the appointed Board member will hold office until the next regular scheduled election for District Board members in November 2024.
