The Bargaining teams met today in our 8th productive and collaborative negotiations session. The new Chief Business Official (CBO) provided background information regarding the district budget and COLA to explain the current district proposal of a 4% on-schedule salary increase. The district’s proposal was in response to BTA’s proposal of a 5% on-schedule salary increase (effective July 1, 2023), and a 4% on-schedule salary increase (effective January 1, 2024). The parties agreed to continue negotiations on Article 7 (Compensation) on March 7, 2024 using data compiled from the 2nd interim report.
As a sign of good faith negotiations, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Article 8 (Health & Welfare) that the district contributions will increase to cover the Kaiser premium increase of 11.6% (see 2024 district contribution rates below).

This increase will ensure that there were no additional out-of-pocket premiums costs for employees.
